Headhunt vs Poach

Q：請問「挖角」的英文怎麼說？(Peter 電子消費性產品/台北)

A：英文裡有兩個字可以表達挖角。


Headhunt，獵人頭，這是大家悉的字，並沒有負面的意思。
例如: Tina was headhunted by a large company. (Tina被一間大公司挖角了。)

另有一個字叫做poach，這個字原意是竊取、盜用，偷偷捕魚打獵。高薪挖角也是這個字。

Poach: persuade someone who belongs to another organization, team etc to leave it and join yours, especially in a secret or dishonest way. 

That company is always poaching our staff. (那家公司總是在挖角我們的員工)

跳槽: jump hop; jump hopping

年終獎金: annual year bonus; year-end bonus

農曆年: lunar new year

求職者: job seeker

Many people start job hunting after receiving year-end bonuses.

Due to the economic rebound, there will be more vacancies for job seekers in 2013.
